Shinelabb began with a simple frustration: the jewellery people actually wanted to wear cost several times what the materials were worth, and nobody could tell you why.
We make fine jewellery with lab-grown diamonds and moissanite, set in 925 sterling silver and gold vermeil. Every piece is made to order in [[Surat / your city]], which means nothing sits in a warehouse and nothing is marked up to pay for the ones that did.
What a lab-grown diamond actually is
The same carbon, the same crystal structure, the same hardness and the same fire as a mined diamond. A gemmologist needs specialist equipment to tell them apart, because chemically there is nothing to tell apart. The difference is where it was formed — in a controlled chamber over a few weeks rather than in the earth over a few billion years — and what that means for the price and for the ground it came out of.
Why sterling silver and vermeil
Because the stone is the piece. Setting a beautiful stone in solid gold triples the price and changes very little about how it looks on a hand. 925 sterling silver is durable, hypoallergenic and holds a setting properly. Gold vermeil gives you the warmth of gold over the same sterling core. Both are made to be worn, not stored.
Made to order
Nothing on this site is sitting in a box waiting. When you order, your piece is made: the stone is set, the band is finished by hand, and it ships in [[X–Y working days]]. That is slower than buying off a shelf, and it is the reason the price is what it is.
